NEW EMPLOYMENT AVAILABLE Title: Mechanical Inspector Area: Newcastle Industry: Engineering Department (Manufacturing & Production) Ref No.: TRG 2108 Salary: Market related TCTC available/negotiable Start Date: Immediate (Neg) An opportunity for an experienced MECHANICAL INSPECTOR (Manufacturing & Production) is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the successful incumbent will be required to measure and determine equipment condition, analyse trends, and identify the need for maintenance, taking into account production constraints. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Knowledge of equipment o To use tools such as vibration and oil analysis, o non-destructive testing such as measurements on chain wear, o conveyor belt hardness and liner thickness, o SAP problem and cause analysis, o Plant downtime reports and plant MIS to ascertain the status of equipment • Planned inspection of all equipment including safety checks and initiate work orders accordingly (To liaise with engineering plant personnel on all inspections as required by the ISO quality management system such as calibration, the safety inspections and coordination of Government AIA such as the testing of the pressure vessels and lifting equipment, transformer maintenance and Electrical equipment) • Preventative schedule maintenance (To continuously improve on the maintenance schedules using the reliability centred maintenance technique (RCM)) • Validate and update equipment specification files and history on CMMS (To use systematically record and analyse equipment information such technical specifications on SAP so as to optimize the use of the computer maintenance management system) • Repetitive problem communication to eliminate failure re-occurrences (To prevent the reoccurrence of failures by identifying the root cause and finding solutions to eliminate the causes) • General, Perform standby duties as a Management Official, work overtime from time to time
